Lorraine Bacchus, Alex Gould and Jon Gould
Survivors of the Process

Preview 16th March 6 - 9pm
17th - 19th March   12  - 6 pm

An exhibition by artists Lorraine Bacchus, Alex Gould and Jon Gould.
An interaction between Sculpture, Installation & Painting.

The human figure, in particular the face, is usually the initial
inspiration for Lorraine Bacchus work. The materials then take over,
disrupting the surface so that the paintings appear provisional, as if
entropy has begun. This sense of impermanence is what interests me.

Alex Gould have always been interested in figurative work, the outer
body being analogous to the inner body. He will be exhibiting two works
Body Kit Mk.1 and 2 which are self-portraits . Many of Gould's interests
and pursuits are masculine in nature, but are an expression of masculinity
that could be thought of as out-dated and unnecessary. And yet they
continue to grow in popularity. So, with its references to bodybuilding,
turbos, engines, superheroes, decay and destruction Body Kit looks back at
what he has done and forward at what he may become. A relic of the future.
Gould imagines them emerging and pulled from a hole in the ground and
set down by someone both confused and interested. Gould has actively
pursued materials and construction with an automotive and mechanic
background, these being of continued interest to him.

Jon Gould is a designer and artist whose work ranges from interactive design
to portraiture and animation. He is interested in personal identity in digital
spaces.
