1 2 ART CREW
28th July 1 - 5pm Free
Life Drawing 7 - 9pm £5 Entry
We are gathering all of our old, unwanted 2D artwork so that the public, our friends and family can give it a new life. We are also setting up a few workshop stations, drawing, collage, zines and crocheting. The crocheting will be done by using old clothes, which have been made into balls of yarn. This station will be led by Carol McCallum. She has been crocheting for years and will be teaching the basics of crocheting by teaching how to make a simple square, this will allow the opportunity for everyone to learn a new skill and, also to make it into a collaborative piece.
The squares at the end could be made into a larger piece by adding them all together, or people can keep the individual squares.
Using the provided materials: our old sketchbook pages, collages, drawings, notebook pages, unwanted paintings and life drawings, we will use these for the drawing, collage and zine stations. The zine station would be where we teach the basics of making zines, and allow everyone to create their own. The drawing and collage station will not be so much about teaching a new skill, but about letting your creative juices flow. Sometimes the hardest part to begin creating is making the first mark, however, here some of the pages will already contain different marks from our old work which could be erased, collaged into and drawn into.
We will be providing all making materials, the 2D artwork, glue, scissors, pens, pencils, paint, brushes, palettes, etc. However, if you have some of your own materials in mind, feel free to bring them along with you to use as well!
