Summerhall TV talks to the artists at DOK Artist Space an exciting new visual arts studio and exhibition space in Edinburgh.

DOK Artist Space is an Artist run organisation in Edinburgh that is founded by three Edinburgh College of Art graduates: Karen Fleming, Daryl Mckee and Olivia Turner. The trio discovered that Ocean Terminal were keen to make use of a semi-derelict former paint store known as The Tin Shed situated on the waterfront, behind the multi-storey car park and next to the rickety jetty that hosts one of Anthony Gormley’s series of striking sculpted figures. Its generous space, sturdy design and location right in the heart of the capital’s once bustling port make it a unique space. DOK are already well advanced with their plans to renovate the building to transform it into an artist space.

After the renovations have been concluded, the collective will begin filling their studios, embarking on the key aspect of their plan to promote art and giving artists from all walks of life an opportunity to join a community of like minded individuals, as well as encouraging the wider Leith community to participate in projects.
